Arugam Bay is located 314 km from Colombo and 2 1/2 km south of the small town of Pottuvil in the Ampara District, on the South-East coast of Sri Lanka.

Arugam Bay is known to be a world famous 'Surfing' destination, and a coral reef that includes a stunning display of tropical fish, colourful corals & aquatic plants, which makes it the ultimate spot for diving and a paradise for underwater photography. More experienced divers can head further to Basses reefs, as there are many shipwreck spots that can be viewed. 'Pottuvil Point' is known as the highest point in Pottuvil, which is the most popular point for surfing. Surfing season is definitely around the corner!!!
