South West Coast

The coastal area south of Colombo all the way down to Hikkaduwa is referred to as the South West of Sri Lanka. Sandy beaches, mangrove lined lagoons, a vibrant cultural heritage, and its proximity to the International Airport, makes this region an ideal first or last stop on a holiday in Sri Lanka.

The South West Coast is easily accessed via the Southern Expressway. The best time to visit this region is between November to April when the seas are ideal for swimming and surfing.
